I chose the passwords about the moon because Japanese people enjoy watching the moon in September.

Tsukimi (つきみ・月見) or Otsukimi, literally moon-viewing, refers to Japanese festivals honoring the autumn moon. Japanese Word Game - Animal Shiritori

Shiritori (しりとり) is a Japanese word game in which the players are required to say a word which begins with the final kana of the previous word. No distinction is made between hiragana, katakana and kanji. "Shiritori" literally means "taking the bottom" as the Japanese language is traditionally written in vertical columns, from the top down. Hiyamugi Camp

During the hot summer, Japanese people love eating Hiyamugi. This month, I would like to introduce Hiyamugi to all of you.  We also have some of Japanese activities. (It depends on participants' level of Japanese.)    In this event, you can learn not only culture but also Japanese language.

Hiramugi are thin, white Japanese noodles made of wheat flour. The noodles are usually served cold. Hiyamugi are usually served cold with a light flavored dipping sauce or tsuyu. The tsuyu is usually a katsuobushi-based sauce that can be flavored with welsh onion, ginger, or wasabi. In the summer, hiyamugi chilled with ice is a popular meal to help stay cool.

Date: Sunday, August 22nd

Time : 1:30 pm -3:30 am     (Door opens 1:00 p.m. Please arrive by 1:30 pm.)

Cost: In Advance - $19  or     At the Door $21 (still need to contact)

Maximum Number: 8 students

World Peace 世界平和 せかいへいわ

The word of the month for August is World Peace (世界平和 せかいへいわ).  We made paper cranes（おりづる） for 世界平和 during Japanese lessons.
